Meet Andrea

Bringing the taste of Hawaii home to Midland, Texas.

Andrea Rodriquez

Owner · Midland, Texas

My name is Andrea Rodriquez, and I was born and raised right here in Midland, Texas. I'm a single mom of three, a grandma of two, and at nineteen I was the youngest homeowner in Midland.

Owning my own bakery has always been the dream. It's my passion. So when I resigned from my job in January 2026, it felt like a door that needed to close so new ones could open.

Since then I've been selling baked goods to make a living and being a full-time grandma. Then a good friend, Edgar — who's a franchisee himself now — brought me some of these malasadas and told me about the opportunity. A way to make the dream come true, start right from home, and still show up for my grandbabies.

Now I get to bring the taste of Hawaii to Midland.

Hold up

So what's a malasada?

It's a Hawaiian thing. Soft, pillowy, rolled in sugar and stuffed by hand, one at a time. We make a lil batch each weekend — and when they're gone, they're gone.

And nope, it's not a donut.
No hole. No glaze. None of that.
